INTRODUCTION: The Jena Soft Tissue Tumor Reference Center is the major German pathology institute for consultation of malignant mesenchymal tumors. Here, we present the clinicopathological data on thoracic soft tissue tumors of a two-year period.
METHODS: The tumors were analyzed according to their localization, type (soft tissue tumor, other tumor type, non-neoplastic lesion) and biological behavior. The frequency of the defined soft tissue tumor entities were considered after categorizing the cases according to the WHO Classification of Tumors. Gender and age were also assessed.

Seventeen paragangliomas were identified in a retrospective review of 200 NTP/NCI carcinogenicity studies in F344/N rats that served either as control or treated animals. Most tumors were grossly visible and located in the retroperitoneum adjacent to the vertebrae and aorta near the kidneys. INTRODUCTION: Myxomas are benign mesenchymal neoplasms which arise mainly in the heart. The laryngeal localization is very rare. We aim to describe the clinical, histological and therapeutic features of this condition.
CASE REPORT: We report two cases of laryngeal myxomas occurred in male and female patients, presenting with a history of prolonged hoarseness. Laryngoscopy revealed a polypoid mass on the true vocal folds. The lesions were excised with cold instruments. One patient presented a recurrence 4 years after the first surgery.
