OBJECTIVE: The aim was to study characteristics of traffic accident victims before and after the implementation of the new Brazilian traffic code, in January 1998.
SUBJECTS AND METHODS: The study population was car and motorcycle occupants seen in a pre-hospital care service in Londrina, Parana State (Brazil) before the introduction of the new Brazilian traffic code, from 22 January to 21 July 1997, and after its implementation during the same period in 1998. Victims were analyzed over the time periods according to helmet and seat belt use, gender, underage driving, and alcohol on the breath.

The purpose of this paper is to review past and present roles and to speculate on the future of the Ontario provincial psychiatric hospitals (PPHs). Currently, and for the very immediate future only, there are 10 PPHs that are owned and operated by the Ministry of Health of Ontario, each serving a specified population ranging from 250,000 to over 3,000,000. In addition to clinical expertise, provincial psychiatric hospitals contribute greatly to teaching and research. Ontario's mental health reform movement has called for a shift of resources to the community and a downsizing of PPHs by 2003.

METHODS: Data from pediatric inpatients with CKD hospitalized from June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2017 were extracted from the electronic records of HQMS database, which includes over 14 million inpatients. However, their implementation in Korea has revealed substantial legal and regulatory barriers. This study analyzed the structural incompatibilities between AI-enabled EMS and Korea's current legal framework, with particular attention to the Medical Service Act, Emergency Medical Service Act, and Personal Information Protection Act.

The purpose of this study was to investigate fracture patterns due to pediatric firearm injuries. The data used was from the US Firearm Injury Surveillance Study 1993-2019. Over these 27 years, there were 19,033 children with fractures due to firearm activity with an average age of 12.2 years; 85.2% were boys and the firearm was a powder type in 64.7%. The finger was the most common fracture location, while the tibia/fibula was the most common location for those admitted to the hospital.
