Pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis (P.A.M.) is a rare pulmonary disorder that pursues usually an asymptomatic course and can culminate in severe respiratory failure. We report a 48 year old Saudi female patient with P.A.M. who deteriorated rather steadily after the initial 18 years of asymptomatic course until a frank type I respiratory failure is established. We present a rare case of acute cholecystitis in a 51-year-old patient. The gallbladder exhibited bone metaplasia, a condition infrequently observed in clinical practice. Acute cholecystitis was confirmed through clinical, radiological, and biological investigations, and the patient underwent cholecystectomy. Histopathological analysis of the surgical specimen revealed bone metaplasia in the gallbladder wall, a phenomenon associated with chronic inflammation due to gallstones. This article highlights the significance of post-surgical histopathological evaluation and discusses follow-up options

Between February 1994 and March 1995, 52 patients (48 men and 4 women) with vesical lithiasis were treated by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), using the MPL 9000-X Dornier lithotriptor. The problem of residual choledocholithiasis is a subject discussed for decades by surgeons and gastroenterologists. In particular at present when patients with cholecystolithiasis are operated mainly by the laparoscopic route, this questions is again a frequently discussed topic. The submitted paper evaluates the incidence of choledocholithiasis in a group of 403 patients. From the investigation ensues among others that the presence of diverticula in the area of the ampulla of Vater is associated with a higher incidence of choledocholithiasis.

A case of massive intra and extrahepatic lithiasis in a 52 year-old-man is presented. Diagnosis was confirmed by ultrasonography, CT and percutaneous cholangiography.
