A Multi-Outcome Prognostic Model for Community-Dwelling Older Adults Admitted to Skilled Nursing Facilities for Post-Acute Care.

OBJECTIVES: Nearly 20% of hospitalized older adults are discharged to a skilled nursing facility (SNF) for short-term rehabilitation. Many subsequently experience adverse outcomes, such as hospital readmissions, transitioning to long-term care rather than returning home, or death. To guide shared decision making, we developed a prognostic model for multiple outcomes for older adults admitted to SNFs. DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS: Twenty percent national Medicare sample of community-dwelling older adults aged ≥66 discharged to an SNF after a hospitalization bet

The Impact of Nurse-Led Motivational Interviewing Based on the Transtheoretical Model on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo Patients: A Retrospective Study.

Aims/Background Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a common vestibular disorder with a high recurrence rate. Motivational interviewing (MI), a patient-centred communication technique, combined with the transtheoretical model (TTM), may be crucial in promoting behavioural changes and reducing recurrence in BPPV patients. Therefore, this study evaluated the effects of nurse-led MI based on the TTM on rehabilitation outcomes and recurrence rates in BPPV patients. Methods This retrospective cohort study included 1143 BPPV patients treated at Beijing Shijitan Hospital, Capital Medical U

Hepatitis C treatment in a co-located mental health and alcohol and drug service using a nurse-led model of care.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is more prevalent among people with experience of severe mental illness compared to the general population, due in part to higher levels of injecting drug use. Delivering HCV care through mental health services may reduce barriers to care and improve outcomes. A nurse-led HCV program was established in a co-located mental health and addiction service in Melbourne, Australia. People with a history of injecting drug use, including current use, were referred for HCV testing by nurses, with support provided on-site from a general practitioner and remotely from infectious di

Predicting nurses' behavioral intention to adopt artificial intelligence in a resource-limited setting: an extended technology acceptance model study in Iran.

BACKGROUND: The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into healthcare systems has the potential to substantially enhance clinical decision-making, workflow efficiency, and quality of patient care. However, the successful implementation of AI technologies largely depends on their acceptance by frontline healthcare providers, particularly nurses. While the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been widely used to explain technology adoption, evidence remains limited regarding the role of nurses' cognitive and attitudinal factors in resource-limited settings. METHODS: A cross-sectional ana
