A 49-year-old man had a sebaceous gland carcinoma in the right upper eyelid. The tumor was excised with an additional 5-mm safety margin. The posterior lamellar reconstruction was performed with a reverse modified Hughes flap and residual conjunctiva. The anterior lamellar reconstruction was performed by making a skin defect similar to a skin removal in blepharoplasty. The skin excision part was designed next to the upper portion of the defect, and the excised skin was grafted to the lower portion of the defect. Sebaceous adenocarcinoma is a rare neoplasm of the eyelid that often masquerades as a chalazion, blepharitis, or blepharoconjunctivitis. Controversy exists as to the proper mode of therapy for patients with a tumor confined to the eyelid. We believe that wide local excision (5 to 6 mm of normal tissue) with frozen section analysis and eyelid reconstruction is the preferred treatment. Only 1 of 11 patients had a recurrence with this technique. No regional or distant metastasis has occurred in an average of 68 months of follow-up.

A pedunculated lipoma present for 30 years developed an inclusion cyst in its most dependent apex. The walls of the inclusion cyst became calcified. BACKGROUND: Vimentin is an intermediate-sized filament which is highly expressed in mesenchymal cells and is associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). EMT markers ZEB2 and Slug lead to Vimentin overexpression and E-cadherin loss, resulting in invasion and metastasis. However, the status of Vimentin remains unexplored in eyelid sebaceous gland carcinoma (SGC). The study aims to determine status of Vimentin in SGC and its association with EMT markers E-cadherin, ZEB2 and Slug.

PURPOSE: To evaluate outcomes of single-stage posterior lamellar reconstruction using buccal mucosal grafts after posterior lamellar resection (PLR) for eyelid sebaceous carcinoma.
METHODS: Retrospective consecutive case series at an academic center (2020-2025). Patients with histopathologically confirmed sebaceous carcinoma who underwent PLR with immediate buccal mucosal grafting, without other posterior lamellar substitutes, were included. BACKGROUND: Sebaceous carcinoma (SeC) is an uncommon malignancy arising from sebaceous glands of the conjunctiva and skin. Recurrent mutations in the ZNF750 were recently identified in ocular SeC. We assessed whether ZNF750 loss is a specific feature of ocular SeC or a general feature of sebaceous tumors.
METHODS: Immunostaining for ZNF750 expression was performed in 54 benign and malignant sebocytic proliferations. Staining for ZNF750 was scored on a three-tier scale: positive (>75%), partially positive (5%-74%), and negative (<5%).

Sebaceous carcinoma is a ra malignant tumor of adnexal origin arising from sebaceous glands. It is most commonly seen arising from the eyelids and head and neck. It is predominantly seen in females with an average age of around 65 years. Apocrine differentiation in sebaceous carcinomas is rare but has been reported in the literature.
