Mature cystic teratomas, often referred to as dermoid cysts, are the most common germ cell tumors of the ovary in women of reproductive age. The gross pathologic appearance of a dermoid cysts is characteristic. Hair follicles, skin glands, muscle, and other tissues lie within the cyst wall. We present a case of a dermoid cyst ovarian tumor in a 24-your-old patient with a tooth lying on each wall. The mass was laparoscopically removed by ovarian cystectomy.

This study focused on five unusual cases with anomalous eruptions of the maxillary second premolars that related to late development of the germs. In four cases, the affected premolars erupted between the ages of 12y3m and 14y6m. In one case, which was suspected to include bilateral anomalies, the eruption of the premolar was excessively late, continuing up to 17y8m old. It was surmised that the degree of tooth formation in the contralateral side might help to predict approximately at what age the late premolars will erupt.

Wistar rats given a single intraperitoneal injection of 75 mg cyclophosphamide revealed dental anomalies in the form of shortening or lengthening of incisors, and development of supernumerary teeth. Rats given additionally 5 mg/kg b. w. of a nitrosomethylurea solution over a period of four months showed the same dental anomalies, but with relatively shorter latency times. In a supplementary investigation examining the effects of benzo(a)pyrene and nitrosomethylurea applied locally to the organon dentale, neoplastic lesions and dental dysplasia were seen.

Although orthodontic repositioning of impacted teeth is widely used, the treatment has its limitations. Autotransplantation or intra-alveolar surgical repositioning of teeth is an alternative therapy that may be used in selected cases of desperate impactions, when orthodontic extrusion is unsuccessful or when orthodontic treatment is rejected by the patient. A case report is presented to stress both the indications and limitations of a modified technique of intra-alveolar surgical uprighting of impacted teeth.

The present study proposes equations for age determination both in living and dead children, obtained with the help of stepwise ascending multiple linear regression. The equations should be applied, based on the number of erupted teeth and tooth germs, which were detected on radiographs, during clinical examination and in infant skeletal remains. The proposed equations proved to be efficient just like Demirjian's method used as a reference today, and permit age estimation till 20 years of age.

The literature supports the efficacy of osseointegrated implants for partially edentulous patients, but care must be exercised in adolescents with incomplete bone formation. Implants do not follow the normal growth of the jaws, and they behave like ankylosed teeth. They may also interfere with the normal growth of the alveolar process and jeopardize the germs of the adjacent permanent teeth or alter eruption. This case report analyzes the unfavorable clinical and radiographic findings of a single-tooth replacement in a young male over a 15-year period.
