Chondrodystrophy was found to occur as an embryonic lethal in a special line of turkeys. Inheritance of the condition was studied in embryos produced parthenogenetically from virgin dams and also in embryos from the same dams in bisexual matings. Expression was similar to other forms of the disorder encountered in various avian species. Micromelia and brachycephaly were recognized in affected embryos after 9 days while lethality occurred mainly after 16 days of incubation. Listeria monocytogenes was isolated from critical control points in a Danish turkey processing plant, from turkey products and from cases of human listeriosis. During processing in the plant the prevalence of L. monocytogenes ranged from 25.9 to 41.4%. Cleaning and disinfection decreased the prevalence to 6.4%. PRESENTATION OF CASE: 17 year old male applied to our clinic with complaints of fatigue, lassitude, right chest pain and spitting of watery expectoration proceeding in 6 months. Computed tomographic scan indicated a 130*110 mm smooth contoured cavitary lesion located in the right middle lobe of the lung. Treatment with cystotomy and capitonnage successfully. Histopathologic examination confirmed hydatid cyst. The patient recovered from all his complaints postoperatively and he was discharged from the hospital in 7 days
