In this study indium tin oxide (ITO) nanofibers were synthesized using an electrospinning method. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the degradation performance of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) using TiO2/WO3 and TiO2/SnO2 systems. A BET surface area analyzer, UV-vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA) were employed to characterize the photocatalyst. We report sensitive label-free detection of DNA oligonucleotide sequences using ac impedance measurements. The surface attachment chemistry is critical, and using mixed self-assembled monolayers on a gold electrode results in much better performance than homogeneous self-assembled monolayers. Contrary to expectations, binding of the target sequence reduces rather than increases the charge transfer resistance. The tin oxide and silicon oxide films have been deposited on polycarbonate substrates as gas barrier films, using a thermal evaporation and ion beam assisted deposition process. The photocurrent transient generated by bacteriorhodopsin (bR) on a tin-oxide electrode is due to pH change and not to charge displacement as previously assumed. A raised ridge on a Molloplast-B sample was removed using one of three burs, four stones, or a coarse sandpaper disc. Samples were polished using pumice alone, tin oxide alone, or both agents. In the presence of tin tetrachloride, the rate constant for the rebinding of CO to the triliganded hemoglobin, l'4, is much increased and the number of molecules participating in the CO ligation is decreasing. The pH drops, but a proton consumption process also takes place at the same time. The heme and its environment do not seem to change much, but the tin complexing to protein is very probable. The oxidation of hemoglobin in the form of either oxy or carbonmonoxy occurs with rather high rate.

Stannous fluoride colloid (SFC) kits for instant radiolabeling with 99mTc were prepared and evaluated for suitability as a leukocyte radiolabeling agent. The synthesis of a metalated phosphastannene by reaction of the known cobalt(I) phosphaketene complex Co(DippPDI)(PCO) (DippPDI = 1,1'-(pyridine-2,6-diyl)bis(N-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)ethan-1-imine) with Sn[CH(SiMe3)2]2 is described.
