Objective: To investigate the effects of psychosocial factors on early puberty and its sex specific differences. Methods: Bengbu Yuhui Longitudinal Study of Children Development Cohort, consisting of 1 162 students in grades 1-3 (524 girls) and their parents, was established in April 2021 in Bengbu, Anhui Province. The parents were surveyed by questionnaire to collect the information about their children's 56 items of psychosocial factor exposures, including 5 dimensions: major life events, early life adversity, interpersonal/relational conflict, family economic status and daily life troubles.

Our retrospective analysis of growth and pubertal development includes 109 children and adults with meningomyelocele (MMC) (52 M, 57 F) aged 3.2-21.0 years (median 8.9 years). Anthropometric data, growth-retarding factors and data on pubertal development were analysed in comparison to the normal population using standards from Prader et al. (1). Hypothalamic hamartoma (HH) syndrome comprises the clinical triad of epilepsy, developmental retardation, and central precocious puberty. A predominant opinion has been that the acquired cognitive and behavioral disorders observed in children with this syndrome are a direct effect of their seizure activity.
