OBJECTIVE: To describe the unique complication of hemoperitoneum associated with anaphylaxis.
DESIGN: Retrospective case series from September 2012 to August 2017.
SETTING: Two private emergency and specialty referral hospitals.

In this article, we will present the physical manifestations of two similar conditions. The first is cholinergic urticaria. This is chronic urticaria precipitated by an elevated body temperature. The second is exercise-induced anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can be idiopathic, a result of a specific allergenic trigger (food, medication, or insect sting), or exercise induced. We will focus on the third subtype. We describe the causes, symptoms, pathophysiology, testing, treatment, and prognosis of these two conditions.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the frequency and epidemiological features of wasp venom allergy in the workplace.
METHODS: Retrospective review of 98 adult patients (age 18-65) who suffered an anaphylactic reaction to a wasp sting. Patients were asked about reactions during working hours. Personal history of atopy and previous wasp stings as well as the season, month and type of locality (urban or rural) at the moment of the sting were recorded. Serum-specific IgE levels to venoms from Vespula, Polistes and Apis were measured.
