Gastric bronchogenic cyst is an extremely rare lesion. A 62-year-old Korean woman presented with an incidentally found perigastric nodule. An abdominal ultrasonogram and computed tomography showed a 1.5 cm solid, homogeneous, low-density nodule in the hepatogastric ligament near the gastric lesser curvature. At the time of surgery, a soft 1.7 cm nodule was found in the lesser curvature side just below the gastroesophageal junction, and a gelatinous mass was protruded from the nodule during the resection. An infant who had a cardiac murmur after the delivery was evaluated with echocardiogram. A 1 cm cystic area was incidentally identified in the upper right mediastinum, that was not related with the heart. Bronchogenic cysts are relatively rare congenital anomalies that represent malformations of the embryonic foregut and are morphologically expressed as maldevelopments of the respiratory system. Anatomically, they can be positioned at any location along the central axis of the respiratory system, but are more commonly discovered in the thorax. Infradiaphragmatic bronchogenic cysts are rare and retroperitoneal ones distinctly unusual. We report a retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst clinically masquerading as a phaeochromocytoma.

A rare autopsy case of mediastinal bronchogenic cyst with malignant transformation is presented. The cyst had been located in the anterior mediastinum for at least 28 years in a 52 year old male. Chest X-ray findings showing rapid enlargement of the cyst and biopsy of the spine for lumbago made a clinical diagnosis as suspicious mediastinal cystic teratoma with malignant transformation metastasizing to the spine. A retroperitoneal tumor originating from a bronchogenic cyst is an extreme rarity. We report the sixth case of a retroperitoneal bronchogenic cyst in an asymptomatic 38-year-old man who was initially admitted to hospital due to elective herniotomy of a right-sided inguinal hernia. A 51-year-old man presented with cough and pain in his upper chest for 1 week. Chest CT showed an ill-defined right paratracheal mass with slight enhancement in the upper mediastinum. A FDG PET/CT was performed showing focal increased FDG uptake with SUVmax of 4.7 in the mass. The mass was excised surgically. Histopathologic examination revealed infected bronchogenic cyst.

Bronchogenic cysts are generally detected in the mediastinum, along the tracheobronchial tree, or in the lung parenchyma. Subcutaneous presternal bronchogenic cysts have been rarely described, and they are usually of small size (<3 cm) and reported in children. We report a case of giant presternal subcutaneous bronchogenic cyst in a 20-year-old man. Presternal subcutaneous bronchogenic cysts, despite their rarity, should be considered in the differential diagnosis of all subcutaneous cystic masses, independent of their size and the patient's age.

A 51-year-old woman was referred to our hospital because of continuing back pain for 2 weeks. Computed tomography revealed a mass 30x40 mm in diameter adjacent to the left adrenal gland. We performed laparoscopic surgery in order to relieve the symptoms and make a diagnosis. Because there was adhesion between the mass and gastric wall, the mass was resected together with the gastric wall. Adenocarcinoma arising from a mediastinal cyst was detected by exercise technetium-99m hexakis-2-methoxyisobuty-lisonitrile (99m)Tc-MIBI scintigraphy in a 65-year-old woman with known coronary disease.
