A comparison between different methods of determining the levels of lymecycline in tissue is presented. The drug levels have been compared with those registered, during the steady state condition, in interstitial fluid obtained from subcutaneously implated tissue cages in rabbits. Studies were performed on anesthetized dogs to determine the relationship of interstitial pressure to sodium excretion during renal vein constriction in the presence and absence of volume expansion. Renal interstitial pressure was measured from implanted capsules during basal renal venous pressure and increased pressures of 10, 20, 30, and 40 mmHg. The development of the sclerotome is considered as a model for the formation of mesenchyme from an epithelium. In early epithelial somites, transmission and scanning electron microscopy indicate considerable ultrastructural similarity between the future sclerotome and dermamyotomal regions. Subsequently, these two regions diverge in their development. In the forming dermamyotome, junctional complexes become more extensive and the cells become elongated, closely applied to each other, and have angular surface contours. In the forming sclerotome, there is an early reduction in apical junctions.

Constant infusion experiments were performed on dogs to determine the concentration levels of co-trimazine (a combination of trimethoprim and sulphadiazine) in the dogs' prostatic secretion, prostatic interstitial fluid, prostatic tissue, urine, and other tissues. In order to determine the renal threshold for bicarbonate in the fetal lamb and factors that may influence renal reabsorption of bicarbonate in the fetus, 18 acute fetal lamb preparations (110-140 days of gestation) were studied. Metabolic alkalosis was induced in dogs by administering ethacrynic acid and sustained by feeding a chloride-deficient diet. At the height of the alkalosis extracellular fluid was expanded "isometrically," i.e., with an infusion that duplicated plasma sodium, chloride, and bicarbonate concentrations.
