Six cases of uretero-vaginal fistula are presented. Five patients developed this complication after gynaecological surgery and one after Caesarian section. Constant urinary incontinence combined with normal voiding is typical of this lesion. Excretory urography revealed a stricture in the distal part of the ureter in 5 cases, while in one patient the urographic findings were normal. External biliary fistulas, once common, are now rare: before the present report of 4 cases only 27 cases have been reported in the English literature since 1900. Review of the records of four patients with external biliary fistula confirmed its occurrence in patients over 50 years of age and the variable site for operning of the fistulous tract.
