In surveying the pediatric and orthopedic literature, very little has been written about foreign bodies in skeletal muscle or muscle tissue inflammation in response to foreign bodies. The cytomorphologic findings of eight cases of subareolar abscess of the breast diagnosed by fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy are presented. PURPOSE: To report a case of insect corneal foreign body with in vivo confocal microscopy performed.
METHODS: Clinical presentation, clinical pictures, and treatment are discussed. Confocal microscopy of the injured cornea was performed in areas showing foreign bodies with and without infiltrations seen under the slit-lamp.
CONCLUSION: Confocal microscopy is useful in detection of subtle inflammatory reaction, monitoring the progress of the injury and decision of treatment plans.

Foreign bodies within soft tissues are common in children. They may cause a chronic inflammatory reaction that can result in abnormal findings on radiographs, including lytic or blastic osseous changes. These radiographic findings can mimic both benign and malignant processes. In cases where the history is uncertain and the foreign body is not recognized, magnetic resonance (MR) imaging can make a specific diagnosis and direct appropriate therapy.

Numerous systemic emergency situations, such as hypotension or allergic reactions, may be encountered during dental treatment. In addition, rare but life-threatening complications such as foreign body aspiration in the air passages may also be seen. Aspirated foreign bodies include teeth, implants, mechanical supports or materials used during procedures. We report two separate cases of aspiration risk developing during the course of dental treatment.

A vegetable foreign body located inside the testicular parenchyma is presented. It's about an unexpected pathological finding in an orchidectomy sample, performed on account of testicular atrophy secondary to very advanced funicular twist. The finding of a vegetal material inside the testis is outstanding. In our knowledge we don't know about another similar case. Pathologic aspects, including granulomatous reaction, regarding arguments of testicular atrophy and the foreign body eruption mechanism are discussed. The handling of the scrotum by paramedical people could justify his presence.

Artifacts and foreign bodies can mimic microcalcifications. We report a series of 17 postsurgical women in whom mammograms showed fine linear radiodensities at the surgical bed. Vacuum-assisted biopsy histopathology of one of the lesions showed foreign bodies of different sizes with macrophage reaction. After discussion with the surgeons, we ascertained that a particular type of gauze was used that had fragmented, and we reproduced the mammographic appearance in a chicken breast.
