Exploring how and why Care Groups work to improve infant feeding practices in low- and middle-income countries: a realist review protocol.

BACKGROUND: Within our inquiry into the implementation of breastfeeding policy in Malawi, Care Groups have been mentioned as a means to improve maternal and child health and nutrition outcomes. The 'Care Group model' is an approach primarily used in international development settings, whereby social and behaviour changes are promoted through supported peer-to-peer (mostly mother-to-mother) knowledge sharing. The aim of most Care Groups is to promote improved infant nutrition, improve hygiene and increase the number of children who are fully vaccinated and exclusively breastfed for the first 6

Practice Variation among an International Group of Genetic Counselors on when to Offer Predictive Genetic Testing to Children at Risk of an Inherited Arrhythmia or Cardiomyopathy.

Cascade predictive genetic testing is available for many families as a means to identify individuals at risk of long QT syndrome (LQTS), catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC). The general issue of offering predictive genetic testing to minors has been an area of ethical debate among genetic counselors and other healthcare professionals for many years. An online questionnaire was circulated to four international genetic counseling associations to assess the views of cardiac gene

A practical approach to diagnosis and treatment of symptomatic thromboembolic events in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia: recommendations of the "Coagulation Defects" AIEOP Working Group.

Intensified treatments with multi-drug regimens are responsible for the continuously increasing survival of children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. However, together with the widespread use of central venous lines, they are also considered the main risk factors for the growing number of thromboembolic complications in this population. The rate of thrombosis that was observed in 17 prospective studies was 5.2%. Due to the high survival rate, it is relevant to apply strategies to the long term survivors who overcome the disease but who experience thromboembolic complications. Specific treat

[Innovative practices in the diagnosis and treatment of peritoneal surface malignancies: insights from the 15th congress of the Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International (PSOGI)].

Based on the highlights of the 15th International Congress on Peritoneal Surface Malignancies (PSOGI), this article discusses innovative practices in the diagnosis and treatment of peritoneal surface malignancies (PSM). The conference focused on optimizing cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). Notably, the CAIRO-6 trial demonstrated that perioperative systemic therapy improves progression-free survival (PFS), while the ORCHESTRA trial provided valuable evidence for the management of synchronous peritoneal and extra-peritoneal metastases. New insights in gastrointestinal "pediatric" neoplasms in adult patients: pancreatoblastoma, hepatoblastoma and embryonal sarcoma of the liver. A practical approach by GIPPI-GIPAD Groups.

Pediatric solid neoplasms are rare and very different from those observed in adults. The majority of them are referred to as embryonal because they arise as a result of alterations in the processes of organogenesis or normal growth and are characterized by proliferation of primitive cells, reproducing the corresponding tissue at various stages of embryonic development. This review will focus on embryonal gastrointestinal pediatric neoplasms in adult patients, including pancreatoblastoma, hepatoblastoma, and embryonal sarcoma of the liver. Although they are classically considered pediatric neop
