The specificity of schistosomes to hosts and the compatibility of hosts to schistosomes are formed during the long evolution process of them, they are not only related closely to environment but also to other factors such as the heredity of schistosomes and hosts. This paper reviews the non-adaptivity of schistosomes and hosts from the respects of genetics, immunology, cytobiology, molecular biology, and physiology.

The authors discuss a rare case, unique in our literature, of the familial incidence of Hallermann-Streiff's syndrome and the treatment of some of its complications. Special emphasis is laid on genetic analysis which provides evidence of autosomal dominant heredity with a variable expressivity of the pathological gene, and which must be applied in genetic consultations.

The case of an elderly female patient with a long-standing history of generalized hypercementosis is described. A thorough review of the literature indicates that this may be one of the most extensive cases of hypercementosis to be reported. Possible etiologic factors--including heredity, systemic disorders, chronic periapical infection, and abnormal occlusal trauma--are discussed.

Authors present a new and complete from of EEC syndrome (ectrodactyly, ectodermal dysplasia and cleft lip-palate), analysing its' clinical, genetic and therapeutic aspects. Syndrome malformations involving mainly mesenchymal tissue and with diverse clinical expression suggest a heterogenetic heredity. Participation of environmental and unknown factors is not excluded.

Root resorptions caused by orthodontic movement are not supported by consistent scientific evidence that correlate them with heredity, individual predisposition and genetic or familial susceptibility. Current studies are undermined by methodological and interpretative errors, especially regarding the diagnosis and measurements of root resorption from orthopantomographs and cephalograms. Samples are heterogeneous insofar as they comprise different clinical operators, varied types of planning, and in insufficient number, in view of the prevalence of tooth resorptions in the population. Nearly al…
