UNLABELLED: The signaling mechanism that mediates inflammatory responses in remote non-ischemic myocardium following regional ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) remains incompletely understood. Myocardial Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) can be activated by multiple proteins released from injured cells and plays a role in myocardial inflammation and injury expansion. Congenital renal dysplasia (RD) is a severe form of congenital renal malformation characterized by disruption of normal renal development with cyst formation, reduced or absent nephrons, and impaired renal growth. Review of authors' results and the most representative literature data on the role of tumor-associated proteolitic systems involved in invasion, metastasizing and angiogenic processes in diagnostics and prognosis in various oncologic diseases is presented in this paper. The main attention is paid to the key matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs) as well as to the plasminogen activation system components (uPA, PAI-1) study in tumor tissues and peripheral blood. Fetal hypoxia leads to progressive cardiac remodeling in rat offspring. The present study tested the hypothesis that maternal hypoxia results in reprogramming of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) expression patterns and fibrillar collagen matrix in the developing heart. PURPOSE: In rheumatoid arthritis, tenosynovial invasion of tendon is associated with an increased rate of tendon rupture and a worse clinical prognosis compared to noninvasive disease. Tendon is composed predominantly of type I collagen, which can be efficiently degraded by collagenolytic matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), one of which, MT1-MMP, is membrane bound and inhibited by tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2, but not by TIMP-1. The role of MT1-MMP in tendon disease is unknown. In this report, we investigate the potential role of MT1-MMP in invasion of tenosynovium into tendon.
