OBJECTIVE: Determine standards of referral and management of patients with venous leg ulceration in primary care after the release of the EVRA (A Randomized Trial of Early Endovenous Ablation in Venous Ulceration) study results.
METHODS: An online questionnaire was disseminated over four months to professionals working within primary care.

BACKGROUND: Women are 2 to 9 times more likely to experience an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury than men. Various hormones including relaxin, progesterone, and estrogen influence ACL strength. Oral contraceptives (OCs) alter these hormone levels; however, studies have yet to comprehensively compare different OCs' effects on the ACL.
HYPOTHESIS: OCs with increased progestin-to-estrogen ratios will (1) increase ACL collagen expression, (2) decrease ACL matrix metalloproteinase expression, and (3) increase ACL strength.

AIM: To propose a new home safe abortion protocol and effective immediate contraception.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Four hundred women undergoing home safe abortion with RU 486. Hundred accepted to start contraception with Evra® patch.
RESULTS: Concerning home abortion, the failure rate of the protocol was only 3% (12 cases). Concerning contraception, the continuation rate was 50% (50 cases).
CONCLUSION: Early home abortion is a promising method to propose an immediate contraception. The Evra® patch is well accepted and appears to be a first line contraceptive choice.

IUDs releasing 20 mcg/day of levonorgestrel (LNg20) were in randomized trial together with the Copper T, model TCu 380Ag, in seven centers involving 2244 women. Women using an estrogen-progestogen combination contraceptive exhibited an increased frequency of sister-chromatid exchange (SCE), supporting our previous observation. These elevated SCE frequencies tended to decline 3 months after the discontinuation of the pill. Women using a progestogen injectable contraceptive, on the other hand, had unaltered SCE rates. The analysis, in vitro; of mitomycin-C-induced SCE frequencies in women using either the combination or the progestogen injectable contraceptives showed significantly higher rates of induced SCE.
