Mesotherapy was first introduced in Europe for the treatment of localized pain. It is currently used mainly for aesthetical purposes and gradually getting widely used for body contouring, cellulite reduction, and skin rejuvenation. The reports concerning about mesotherapy is increasing in number in the literature. There are reported systemic and local side effects of mesotherapy. Panniculitis is a rare side effect of mesotherapy. In this article, we report a case of mesotherapy-induced panniculitis who responded to dapsone therapy.

We report a girl with lipophagic lobular panniculitis of unknown origin located on her ankles leading to circumferential fat atrophy of the ankles, a condition usually referred to as "annular lipoatrophy of the ankles." According to our patient's features and five additional cases reported so far, we conclude that this condition is actually an end-stage manifestation of an idiopathic lobular panniculitis of children localized to the lower part of the lower limbs. An association with some autoimmune manifestations is highlighted.

Post-steroid panniculitis is known to be very rare and most of the reported cases have been in children after corticosteroid therapy. We present a case of post-steroid panniculitis occurring in a 60-year-old man after massive, long-term administration of corticosteroids for acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Lipomembranous panniculitis is a peculiar type of fat necrosis and has been reported with several clinical conditions, commonly with peripheral vascular diseases. Malignant melanoma presenting as an inflammatory skin metastasis has been described but is an exceedingly rare phenomenon. We report an unusual case of a patient who developed right leg lesions that were initially thought to be infectious in origin. Clinically apparent panniculitis is rare in dermatomyositis. The common histopathological findings are infiltration of lymphocytes, epithelioid cells and plasma cells in the fat lobules, along with varying degrees of fat degeneration and fibrosis. The fasciitis-panniculitis syndrome is histologically characterized by fibrous thickening and inflammation of the subcutaneous septa, fascia and perimysium. Lupus erythematosus panniculitis is a clinical variant of lupus erythematosus in which the main pathologic process involves the deep corium and subcutaneous tissue. We reviewed twenty-nine cases of lupus panniculitis, as well as the cases previously reported in the literature.
