There are persistent disparities in Alzheimer's disease by race and ethnicity that are not well understood. The emphasis given to seeking a genetic basis for racial differences might be a distraction from the more relevant issue of identifying preventable causes of Alzheimer's disease. Three pediatric cases of vesiculopustules persisting for several months or years after eradication of Sarcoptes scabiei are reported. This particular course of scabies in infants is underrecognized although probably common. Its clinical manifestations, natural history and histologic features are identical to those seen in infantile acropustulosis, a recently individualized syndrome whose pathogenesis is unelucidated. In the light of these cases and a review of the literature, the possible relationship between scabies and infantile acropustulosis is discussed.

Children numbering 6,197 were tested for taeniasis. Those children were examined from May, 1981 to July, 1989. Sixty one primary schools, in eight mountainous districts provided the test group of children. The method used in these tests was the Scotch tape perianal swab. OBJECTIVE: Sport-related concussion (SRC) is an evolving public health concern among youth athletes. Despite emerging evidence that race and ethnicity are important factors in determining concussion outcomes, studies examining race and ethnicity are limited.
