INTRODUCTION: Polychromatic corneal dystrophy is an unusual pre-descemet dystrophy, about which there are very few publications. The findings are presented in a case series of four patients with polychromatic corneal dystrophy, using a slit lamp, specular biomicroscopy, and confocal microcospy.

A 50-year-old male presented with foreign body sensation, pain, and redness in left eye. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy revealed tiny larvae crawling around the conjunctival sac. A 69-year-old male dentist in Caracas, Venezuela, was referred to our Cornea Clinic with a history of pain, photophobia, and blurred vision on his left eye. Routine biomicroscopic examination with a slit lamp showed a worm in the corneal stroma of his left eye. The worm was surgically removed and was identified morphologically as Gnathostoma binucleatum.

Objective: Assessment of the utility of smartphone fundoscopy in diagnosing posterior pole pathologies. Methods: An iPhone 12 and a 20D Volk lens were used for smartphone fundoscopy. PURPOSE: To report an atypical case of Cogan-Reese syndrome associated with iris cyst in a young adult male.
METHODS: Slit-lamp biomicroscopic examination, swept-source anterior segment optical coherence tomography (ASOCT) and ultrasound bio-microscopy (UBM) were done to evaluate and characterize the nature of the iris cyst. Ocular inflammation and infection may involve any part of the eye and surrounding tissue. A complete examination, including visual acuity, extraocular movements, pupillary response, slit lamp examination, and fluorescein staining, is often required to establish the diagnosis. Pain relief may be achieved with oral analgesics and cycloplegics. In most cases, prompt follow-up is required.

We treated a persistent, brisk bleb-leak after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C by bleb injection of autologous blood. Following preparation with povidone iodine, approximately 0.5 cc of whole autologous blood was injected into the bleb at the slit lamp. The leak resolved after 36 hours, and after 9 months' follow up, continued to function well.

Bacterial corneal ulcer is a potentially blinding emergency which should ideally be treated by an ophthalmologist aided by slit lamp biomicroscopy, microbial stain and cultures, and then selected fortified topical antibiotics. We suggest an emergency corneal ulcer kit for the initial treatment of patients with suspected corneal ulcers who are unable to readily travel to an ophthalmologist.

Isolated proteinuria preceding tubular dysfunction for years was the presenting laboratory sign in a patient with adolescent cystinosis, followed up to end-stage renal failure in the second decade of life.
