INTRODUCTION: Machine perfusion of heart for donation after circulatory death (DCD) is being increasingly utilized. Current protocols for utilizing heart DCD's machine perfusion might prolong donor warm ischemic time for nonheart organs. BACKGROUND: Use of livers donated after circulatory death (DCD) is one way to expand the donor pool. Our center has aggressively incorporated use of DCD liver grafts into practice. We examined our center and national outcomes as well as national DCD liver utilization.
