A respiratory outbreak associated with human adenovirus type 7 (HAdV-7) occurred among unvaccinated officer candidates attending initial military training. Respiratory infections associated with HAdV-7 can be severe, resulting in significant morbidity. Following the clinical diagnosis of the first case of mumps on September 22, 2006 at the University of Virginia (UVA), 52 suspected cases were identified through active surveillance for mumps by the end of December 2006. BACKGROUND: The logging industry has a high rate of both fatal and non-fatal injuries in comparison to other industries, and plays a vital role in WV's economy.
METHODS: Workers' compensation (WC) injury claims and employment data were summarized to examine patterns and rates of non-fatal logging injuries in WV from 1995 through 2001.
RESULTS: The average annual rate of injury claims was 16.0 per 100 workers per year with rates remaining relatively steady over the 7-year study period. The highest rates of injury were a result of being struck by an object, typically trees, snags, or logs.

Cyproterone acetate (CA) was toxic for Didelphis virginiana at a dose range of 22-28 mg/kg IM. A loss of spermatozoal pairing int the cauda epididymidis did not occur until 2 wk after testicular degeneration caused by CA. The isomers of 1-amino-3-chloro-2-propanol hydrochloride (CL 88,236 and CL 88,237) were well tolerated by the opossum at doses up to 30 mg/kg IM. After 8 days of CL 88,236 and CL 88,237 treatment there was no effect on spermatozoal pairing in the cauda epididymidis or on the seminiferous epithelium.

Psittacosis is typically a mild febrile respiratory illness caused by infection with the bacterium Chlamydia psittaci and usually transmitted to humans by infected birds (1). On average, 11 psittacosis cases per year were reported in the United States during 2000-2017.
