OBJECTIVE: To investigate the acceptability of male circumcision among male miners in Baise, Guangxi, China.
METHODS: A questionnaire-based survey on the willingness to be circumcised (WTC) and its influential factors were conducted among Guangxi male miners recruited by random cluster sampling.

OBJECTIVE: To study the changes of body composition in females patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-related lipodystrophy (LD) syndrome (HIV-LD).
METHODS: Totally 25 female patients who were treated in our hospital from January 2002 to December 2009 were divided into LD group and non-LD group based on the existence of LD. OBJECTIVE: To assess the value of dual energy computed tomography (DECT) for the detection of uric acid (UA) deposition in patients with gout.
METHODS: A total of 37 patients with tophaceous gout (including 8 crystal-proven cases) and 10 control patients (5 with unknown arthropathy, 3 with rheumatoid arthritis, and 2 with osteoarthritis) were included. Paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) is an autoimmune blistering skin disease associated with neoplasms. Clinically, it is characterized by severe mucosal erosions and various cutaneous lesions. Suprabasal acantholysis and cleft with scattered necrotic keratinocytes are the unique histopathological features of PNP. The pathogenic autoantibodies existed in PNP sera, and their production was correlated with the associated tumor. Early detection and resection of the tumor are essential for the treatment of the disease.
