In a thorough QT study, corrected QT (QTc) prolongation displayed peaks at 2.5 and 60 minutes after a supratherapeutic dose. Candlenut oil (CNO) is a potentially new feedstock for biodiesel (BDF) production. In this paper, a two-step co-solvent method for BDF production from CNO was examined. Firstly, esterification of free fatty acids (FFAs) (7 wt%) present in CNO was carried out using a co-solvent of acetonitrile (30 wt%) and H2SO4 as a catalyst. The content of FFAs was reduced to 0.8 wt% in 1 h at 65°C. Combining the multikinase inhibitor sorafenib with the platinum-based chemotherapy of solid tumors was expected to improve treatment outcome. However, in many clinical trials, no benefit from sorafenib addition to the platinum-containing regimen could be demonstrated. Moreover, in some studies, decreased survival of ovarian cancer patients as well as non-small cell lung cancer patients with squamous cell histology was observed. The aim of this study was to investigate the cellular mechanisms of the pharmacological interaction between platinum drugs and sorafenib in different cancer cell lines.

The effect of K2Cr2O7 and (CH3COO)2Pb on the mutagenic activity of gamma rays was studied by a micronucleus test in mouse bone marrow polychromatocytes. Acute and chronic combined actions of the two factors were investigated. Chromium ions (VI) enhanced mutagenic effects of gamma rays in both acute and chronic experiments. In the acute experiments lead ions (II) below 15 mg/kg body weight decreased the number of gamma-ray-induced micronuclei, while higher doses increased it. Chronic combined action of lead ions (III) and gamma rays inhibited mutagenic activity of radiation.
