Clinical and pathogenetic peculiarities of cerebral strokes in patients suffering from rheumatism were studied. Comparative data (little described in literature) on certain peculiarities of the manifestations of acute cerebral circulation disorders in patients of different age, as well as in patients with rheumatism-accompanying cerebral atherosclerosis and arterial hypertension are presented. A considerable incidence of hemorrhagic strokes and their clinical heterogeneity are noted. Problems of the pathogenesis of the cerebrovascular disorders are discussed.

The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) was examined by the immunological method in 24 patients with mature, and 35 patients with immature cerebral tumours, as well as in 10 patients with Guillain Barre's and 16 patients with Landry's polyneuritis. Data of histological and histochemical examinations of 85 biopsy specimens of muscular tissue taken from patients with hereditary muscular and neuromuscular diseases are presented. The diseases were: the extremity-and-lumbar form of myopathy congenital myopathies, Charcot-Marie's neural amyotrophy, Steinert-Batten's atrophic myotonia, and other rare muscular diseases. Use was made of histochemical methods of determining the activity of the enzymes of the Krebs cycle and glycolysis. The data obtained are compared with the clinical peculiarities of each disease.

The author observed 24 patients with proximal spinal muscular atrophies (PSMA) 15 of whom were suffering from Kugelberg-Welander's disease, and 9 from the intermediate form. Dehydration with mannitol was carried out in 58 patients suffering from grave discogenic lumbar radiculitis. A favourable effect was obtained in 43% of the cases. At the onset of the clinical manifestations of the osteochondrosis good and excellent results were obtained in 60% of the cases. As the test stimulation electromyography was used. Three observations of teleangioectases of the Varolian bridge verified at a histological examination are presented. The families of 124 children suffering from infantile schizophrenia were examined. The authors examined clinically and psychopathologically, and followed up 39 children and adolescents with various borderline nervous and psychic disorders in whom a super-worship fantasy or other psychic formations were accompanied with visualized imagination that consisted in fancying bright, sensual images localized within the patient's subjective space and having a dynamic subject character corresponding to the fantasies and other experiences subjectively important for the patient.
