Dendrobium officinale regulate lipid metabolism in diabetic mouse liver via PPAR-RXR signaling pathway: Evidence from an integrated multi-omics analysis.

Dendrobium officinale (DEN) is recognized as a kind of functional food that can effectively ameliorate endocrine and metabolic disruptions. This study delved into the pharmacological mechanism of DEN on hepatic lipotoxicity associated with Type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM). In vivo study experiments on db/db mice indicated that DEN treatment notably enhanced liver function, decreased blood lipid levels, and improved insulin sensitivity. Non-targeted metabolomics analysis revealed that DEN significantly ameliorated metabolism pathways, including lipoic acid, linoleic acid, bile secretion, and th

Brain high-throughput multi-omics data reveal molecular heterogeneity in Alzheimer's disease.

Unbiased data-driven omic approaches are revealing the molecular heterogeneity of Alzheimer disease. Here, we used machine learning approaches to integrate high-throughput transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic profiles with clinical and neuropathological data from multiple human AD cohorts. We discovered 4 unique multimodal molecular profiles, one of them showing signs of poor cognitive function, a faster pace of disease progression, shorter survival with the disease, severe neurodegeneration and astrogliosis, and reduced levels of metabolomic profiles. We found this molecular

Characteristic alterations of gut microbiota and serum metabolites in patients with chronic tinnitus: a multi-omics analysis.

Chronic tinnitus is a central nervous system disorder. Currently, the effects of gut microbiota on tinnitus remain unexplored. To explore the connection between gut microbiota and tinnitus, we conducted 16S rRNA sequencing of fecal microbiota and serum metabolomic analysis in a cohort of 70 patients with tinnitus and 30 healthy volunteers. We used the weighted gene co-expression network method to analyze the relationship between the gut microbiota and the serum metabolites. The random forest technique was utilized to select metabolites and gut taxa to construct predictive models. A pronounced

Preterm Birth in African American Women: A Multi-Omic Pilot Study in Early Pregnancy.

Preterm birth (PTB; <37 weeks completed gestation) is a devastating problem affecting over 13 million live births worldwide. In the U.S., African Americans experience significantly higher rates of PTB compared to non-Hispanic Whites. PTB disparities have been linked to social determinants of health (e.g., socioeconomic status, discrimination). However, the biological underpinnings related to these associations are unclear. DNA methylation (DNAm) is subject to environmental influences, and DNAm modifications are known to affect gene expression. Using a multi-omic approach, we examined differenc

Explore the mechanism of yishenjiangya formula in the treatment of senile hypertension based on multi-omics technology.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: The Yishenjiangya formula (YSJ) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) primarily composed of qi-tonifying components. This classic formula is commonly utilized to treat kidney qi deficiency in elderly patients with hypertension. According to TCM, maintaining a balance between qi and blood is crucial for stable blood pressure. Kidney qi deficiency can disrupt this balance, altering fluid shear force and, ultimately, leading to hypertension, particularly in elderly populations. Despite YSJ's efficacy in treating hypertension, its specific anti-hypertensive mechan

Integrative pan-cancer analysis reveals AARS2 as a lactylation-associated biomarker and therapeutic target in colon adenocarcinoma.

BACKGROUND: Colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) is a lethal malignancy with a poor prognosis. The tumor microenvironment (TME) is pivotal in its development, within which lactate accumulation is a common metabolic hallmark. Lactylation, a novel post-translational modification driven by lactate, serves as a crucial link between tumor metabolism and immunosuppression. It plays multifaceted roles in promoting malignant progression, immune evasion, and chemoresistance. Therefore, systematically investigating lactylation and identifying its key mediators may yield novel therapeutic targets and strategies f
