We report the case of a 16-year-old girl with a history of idiopathic precocious puberty and normal results on pituitary imaging scan. Ten years later, a new cranial magnetic resonance imaging scan was performed due to worsening of episodes resembling Horton's headache and a lesion suggestive of pituitary bleeding was detected. Among 848 cases of primary intracranial malignancy seen during a 63-year period at a pediatric hospital, there were 2 cases of primary pineal choriocarcinoma. Twenty-five boys between 1 and 10 years of age with unilateral or bilateral cryptorchidism were treated with 200 microgram of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) pernasally six times daily until descensus was completed, or for 10 weeks at most. Cranial vault suture opacification (apparent closure) and bone age were evaluated roentgenographically in ten children with thyrotoxicosis. The bone age was advanced greater than 2 SD in only one. We reported two cases of germinoma originating in the basal ganglia among the 50 cases of intracranial germinoma which were experienced at the Department of Neurosurgery, Hokkaido University Hospital.
