Adenocarcinoma of the paraurethral glands represents a very rare neoplasm of the urinary tract. Due to the rarity of this disease, there is no standard therapeutic approach. We report a case of adenocarcinoma of the paraurethral glands in a 56-year-old woman, presenting with abnormal serous vaginal discharges. METHODS: The first intestinal discharge (meconium) was collected from 23 newborns stratified by maternal diabetes status: 4 mothers had pre-gestational type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) including one mother with dizygotic twins, 5 developed gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and 13 had no diabetes. OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of a single-incision mini-sling, placed in the "U" position, with tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence.
METHODS: Women with urodynamic stress incontinence with or without genital prolapse were randomized to receive a mini-sling or TVT (N=263). Those randomized to the mini-sling received two "sham" suprapubic incisions to facilitate blinding. The primary outcome was subjective cure (absence of any urinary incontinence or retreatment) as assessed at 1 year. This trial was a noninferiority study design.

Anaphylactic shock is a life-threatening medical emergency, and its successful approach depends on early recognition and treatment. We present a case report of a 54-year-old female, with the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) Physical Status Classification III, admitted for cervical conization. She presented with known allergies to paracetamol, diclofenac, and nimesulide, and a history of nickel contact dermatitis, with no reports of complicated anesthesia. During conization, adrenaline was infiltrated in the cervix, and hemostasis was performed with packing soaked in Monsel's solution.
