We report a case of vesicocervical fistula secondary to caesarean section. This is a rare complication of caesarean section, which was not recognised intraoperatively. Diagnosis was made clinically, radiologically and endoscopically during the post-operative period. Conservative management with indwelling catheterisation for 3 weeks failed. Hence the fistula was repaired surgically by an abdominal approach.

Durasphere is a urethral bulking agent used to treat stress urinary incontinence secondary to intrinsic sphincter deficiency. Although rare, chronic outlet obstruction and urinary retention are possible complications of this "permanent" bulking agent. During a 7-year period 123 paired urethrographic and sono-urethrographic studies were performed on 101 patients with 110 urethral strictures. In all but 3 cases the urethra was subsequently evaluated either cystoscopically or at open operation. Sono-urethrography readily identified urethral calculi, diverticula and false passages. The present retrospective study was undertaken to determine the true incidence of vesicoureteric reflux after transurethral resection (TUR) of superficial bladder tumors. The possible role of tumor size, number, site, etc., relative to the appearance of reflux were analyzed, and the principal pathogenic factors involved in iatrogenic vesicoureteric reflux were determined. The incidence of reflux was studied using pre and postoperative ureterocystograms. The study revealed the presence of vesicoureteric reflux long after TUR in 20.6% of the patients.

Endoscopic or fluoroscopic pyeloureterotomy was performed in a total of 32 patients (34 ureters) with ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) or ureteral stricture from March 1985.
