BACKGROUND: Rectal GI stromal tumor is uncommon. Local excision with free resection margins provides adequate treatment, but extended surgery such as abdominoperineal resection has been frequently performed because of technical difficulties in the confined pelvic space.

In the present study, we compared the retroperitoneal high ligation with subinguinal varicocelectomy on the treatment of painful varicocele. OBJECTIVE: To examine the clinical features of patients with non-clostridial gas gangrene (NCGG) at our hospital and identify risk factors for in-hospital mortality.

The authors analyze early postoperative results of 320 patients operated on because of aortoiliac occlusion. The mortality of the interventions was 4.1%, the proportion of reocclusions was 7.2% and the rate of amputations was 3.1%. During a 5-year period, 588 consecutive patients with nonseminomatous testicular germ cell cancer were included by 16 hospitals into the Swedish-Norwegian Testicular Cancer Project (SWENOTECA). From 1973 through 1986, 166 consecutive renal transplants were performed in 143 patients. Urological complications included ureteral leakage/obstruction/necrosis, urinary tract infection, pyelonephritis, pelvic lymphocele, pelvic abscess, pelvic hematoma, infected hydrocele, bladder calculus, labial edema, renal artery/segmental stenosis, hydronephrosis, urinary incontinence, renal allograft malrotation and kidney rupture.
