A free fascio-cutaneous flap can be raised from the lateral arm. This flap is especially suitable for smaller defects. The area is supplied by a terminal branch of the profunda brachii artery. The anatomy of the donor site as well as several steps in dissection are described. Three cases where a lateral arm flap has been used are shown, together with a rare intraoperative complication.

The case is presented of a patient with the karyotype 46,XX,del(13q)(pter----q22::q32----qter) confirmed by densitometry and a phenotype of mental and growth deficiency, hypotonia, hypertelorism, ptosis, broad nasal bridge, protruding upper incisors, short neck, dislocation of the hip, hypoplasia of the thumbs, fusion of fourth and fifth metacarpal bones and syndactyly of toes. A trisomy for the distal short arm of chromosome 2 (2p23 leads to 2pter) resulted in similar phenotypic and developmental abnormalities in three related males. A robot hand-arm that can perform various tasks with the unaffected arm could ease the daily lives of patients with a single upper-limb dysfunction. BACKGROUND: The impact of perioperative care interventions on postreconstructive complications and short-term colorectal outcome in patients with anorectal malformation (ARM) type rectovestibular fistula is unknown.
METHODS: An ARM-Net consortium multicenter retrospective cohort study was performed including 165 patients with a rectovestibular fistula. BACKGROUND: Deep analgosedation (DAS) or general anesthesia is mandatory for pulsed-field ablation of atrial fibrillation. In contrast to DAS, general anesthesia (conventional or total intravenous anesthesia [TIVA]) requires airway management. Motor behaviors are central to many functions and dysfunctions of the brain, and understanding their neural basis has consequently been a major focus in neuroscience.
