Bullous leukemia cutis is an uncommon clinical manifestation of cutaneous infiltration by leukemic cells, from B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. We present the case of a 67-year-old, female, chronic lymphocytic leukemia patient. She was taking chlorambucil and developed facial edema with erythema and warmth, misjudged as facial cellulitis. We report four patients with relapsed or refractory follicular (three) and lymphoplasmacytic (one) lymphoma who achieved complete remission (CR) with fludarabine (FDR) lasting from 3.2 to 6 years. A 67-year-old man with Waldenström's macroglobulinemia had a relapse of chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), which had been refractory to corticosteroids, splenectomy, vinca alkaloids, and high-dose intravenous gamma-globulin therapy. Monthly plasma exchange (PE) sessions have been carried out in 3 patients with advanced Waldenström macroglobulinemia, in order to reduce electrophoretic M band under 2g/100 ml. When PE was combined to low doses of cytostatics (n = 18), 3 procedures per session were required to obtain a mean 57.4 +/- 12.3% IgM reduction, from 4.2 +/- 1.2 to 1.7 +/- 0.5 g/100 ml. In five males an erythema nodosum-arthropathy complex preceded the classical oro-genito-ocular triad of Behçet's disease by an average of 27 months. This symptom complex involving the legs initially suggested "idiopathic" erythema nodosum syndrome or acute sarcoidosis. As the diagnosis of Behçet's disease is clinical, these protean manifestations shoud be recognized as a possible "forme fruste" of the disease.

A 2-year-old female spayed British Shorthair cat was diagnosed with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP) after presenting with a 3-week history of gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM) is a rare monoclonal gammopathy. Its clinical signs and symptoms include fatigue, weakness, hepatomegal … t of symptomatic patients and patients with relapsed WM may include alkylating agents, particularly chlorambucil; purine nucleoside analogs, such as fludarabine and cladribine; and, most recently, the use of rituximab. With knowledge about this unusual disease, oncology nurses can provide better care and education for patients with WM.

We describe the first case of disseminated infection with Mycobacterium genavense in an HIV-seronegative patient with a chronic haematological disorder.
