Reminder Strategies to Improve Meal-Logging Adherence: Protocol for a Microrandomized Trial.

BACKGROUND: Accurate measurement of lifestyle factors is central to understanding how daily behaviors act as risk factors or protective buffers to noncommunicable diseases. While wearable devices enable passive monitoring of physical activity or sleep, nutritional intake still depends on active participant input, such as manual dietary logs or image-based recordings. Adherence to such logging tasks often declines rapidly, impacting data completeness and clinical utility. Theory-based reminders drawing on loss-framing or logging consistency feedback (ie, tracking streaks) can improve adherence

Ecological momentary assessment of daily patient-reported outcomes and actigraphy-measured physical activity and sleep in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis: a study protocol.

BACKGROUND: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA) are chronic inflammatory rheumatic diseases characterised by pain, fatigue, mood disturbances, sleep problems and reduced quality of life. These symptoms are highly variable both between individuals and within individuals across days, reflecting the fluctuating nature of disease activity and daily functioning. Although physical activity is known to alleviate many of these symptoms, individuals with RA and SpA often encounter barriers that limit regular engagement. Capturing the dynamic interplay between symptoms and physical act

Nebulised surfactant for the treatment of severe COVID-19 in adults (COV-Surf): A structured summary of a study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.

OBJECTIVES: SARS-Cov-2 virus preferentially binds to the Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) on alveolar epithelial type II cells, initiating an inflammatory response and tissue damage which may impair surfactant synthesis contributing to alveolar collapse, worsening hypoxia and leading to respiratory failure. The objective of this study is to evaluate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of nebulised surfactant in COVID-19 adult patients requiring mechanical ventilation for respiratory failure. TRIAL DESIGN: This study is a dose-escalating randomized open-label clinical trial of 20 COVID-

Self-care and its assessment in the patient-caregiver dyad in Parkinson's disease: a mixed-method study protocol.

INTRODUCTION: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic neurodegenerative condition that affects approximately 10 million people worldwide. As the second most common neurodegenerative disease, its prevalence is expected to double in the next 30 years. PD is characterised by both motor and non-motor symptoms that significantly impact patients' quality of life. The disease leads to physical disabilities and can strain the social and emotional well-being of patients and caregivers. While pharmacological and surgical treatments are essential, non-pharmacological approaches, including self-care strateg
