Four cases of malignant PEComas were stained with smooth muscle actin, muscle specific actin, desmin, human melanoma black-45, melan-A, microphthalmia transcription factor, S100 and cyclin D1. Liposarcoma is one of the commonest soft-tissue sarcomas, but very rare in the oral cavity. Some patients who have had prior bladder biopsies or transurethral resections undergo a repeat resection within several months for various reasons. The detection of a few residual tumor cells in bladder specimens with prior biopsy site changes can be challenging based on histology alone. Immunohistochemical and electron-microscopic techniques were used to analyze the extensor digitorum longus muscles of New Zealand White rabbits 1 h, 1 day, 3, 7, and 28 days after repetitive eccentric contractions. Impaired muscle function may be a predominant aspect of hypothyroidism and is virtually present in all patients with overt thyroid failure. In order to characterize human notochordal tissue we investigated notochords from 32 human embryos and fetuses ranging between the 5th and 13th gestational week, using immunohistochemistry to detect intermediate filament proteins cytokeratin, vimentin and desmin, the cytokeratin subtypes 7, 8, 18, 19 and 20, epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), and adhesion molecules pan-cadherin and E-cadherin. BACKGROUND: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft-tissue sarcoma in children and adolescents, but primary RMS of the breast is exceptionally rare and diagnostically challenging. Imaging findings are nonspecific and can mimic benign adolescent lesions (e.g., fibroadenoma), making timely histopathologic confirmation crucial.
