BACKGROUND: To the best of our knowledge, there are no validated neonatal pain assessment scales in Spanish. Given the need for such a scale, a study was undertaken to adapt and validate the Premature Infant Pain Profile-Revised (PIPP-R) scale. After translation and back-translation, content validity was addressed, a crucial phase in validation studies, in which researchers examine whether the items that make up the scale represent the content that the scale is intended to assess.
AIMS: The aim was to provide evidence for the content validity of the Spanish adaptation of the PIPP-R scale.

The incidence of copper wire breakage for IUDs (Multiloads) using 0.3 and 0.4 mm diameter copper wire was evaluated by examining 969 devices that had been removed for various reasons. The IUDs were examined by light microscopy to determine the integrity of the copper wire. As expected, the incidence of breakage increased with increasing duration of IUD use. CASE: A 62-year-old Caucasian man presented with a comminuted subtrochanteric fracture after a low-energy fall. Physical examination postoperatively revealed a firm hard gluteal compartment in the contralateral buttocks. The patient underwent a fasciotomy, using the Kocher-Langenbeck approach, to release the gluteus maximus and lateral thigh fascia. At the most recent 6-month follow-up, gluteal function was intact with no long-term sequelae from compartment syndrome.

We present an unusual case of severe hydranencephaly in a term infant who presented with the following additional unique features, which were discovered on CT, MRI and MR angiography examinations: (1) occlusion of the bilateral posterior cerebral arteries, (2) absence of the occipital lobes, (3) an ovoid calcified mass sitting on the inner table of the occipital bone, (4) severe cerebellar hypoplasia, (5) a dysmorphic cystic diencephalon, (6) a large anterior midline cyst just above the cribriform plate and (7) absence of the falx. These imaging findings were confirmed at autopsy.

20 patients with hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC) and 18 patients with tumours of the biliary passages and gallbladder (CAC)) were examined via angio-CT without table increment and via spiral CT. Evaluation of the time-density curve of angio-CT showed more rapid and greater enhancement in case of HCC, whereas CAC were characterised by slower and lesser contrast medium uptake than the surrounding hepatic tissue. Superior differential diagnostic information was obtained via angio-CT, whereas spiral CT yields the best information on extent and number of hepatic tumours.

As discussed in the introduction, the rote laboratory and neuroimaging evaluation of a patient with headache but without other neurologic symptoms or signs is often unrewarding. Such evaluations are dictated by the clinical history and examination, hence rely on the diagnostic acumen of the physician. OBJECTIVES: The Mini-Mental Status Examination (MMSE) and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) are 2 frequently used brief cognitive screening tasks. Here, we provide a conversion method from MMSE to MoCA for patients with Alzheimer's dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and Parkinson dementia/Lewy body dementia, as well as for patients with dementia and with or without previous stroke.
