Coronary heart disease (CHD) remains a leading cause of mortality among cancer patients, primarily due to shared risk factors and the impacts of chemotherapeutic drugs, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and radiotherapy. Determining the optimal treatment strategy remains a challenging issue for patients with concurrent CHD and malignant neoplasms. BACKGROUND: Management of malignant renal tumors involving the inferior vena cava (IVC) depends on tumor extension within the cava.
METHODS: Of 295 patients treated for renal cancer, propagation of tumor mass through the renal vein to IVC was seen in 22 (7%) patients. Cephalad extension of the tumor was suprarenal: infrahepatic in 12, retrohepatic in 6, and within the right atrium in 4 patients. All patients had radical nephrectomy, cavotomy, and complete resection of tumors except 1 with diffuse peritoneal metastasis.
RESULTS: Twenty-one patients had curative resections. No operative deaths

Congenital infantile fibrosarcoma (CIFS) is a rare mesenchymal tumor that primarily presents in the soft tissue of the distal extremities and occasionally in unusual locations such as the lung and retroperitoneum. Fourteen examples of intravenous leiomyomatosis in the FIP files were studied. Growth beyond the uterus occurred in 10 of the 14 examples, largely in vessels in the broad ligament and in uterine and iliac veins. Metastasis to the heart occurred in 1 example.
