Leiomyosarcoma of the prostate-an unexpected histopathological outcome.

Prostate leiomyosarcoma is an extremely rare and highly aggressive neoplasm that accounts for >0.1% of all primary prostate malignancies. We report a case of a patient, presenting with recurrent episodes of dysuria, who had been diagnosed and operated for benign prostatic hyperplasia 1 month earlier, and now presented with similar symptoms postoperatively. Trans-rectal biopsy of the prostate was carried out and histopathology revealed leiomyosarcoma of the prostate.

[Leiomyosarcoma of the spermatic cord : a case report].

Leiomyosarcomas of the spermatic cord are rare tumors which cause significant morbidity and mortality. We report a case of leiomyosarcoma in a 67-year-old man who presented with a left scrotal mass. Left orchiectomy with high ligation of the spermatic cord was performed with clinical diagnosis of scrotal tumor. The pathological examination revealed leiomyosarcoma arising from the spermatic cord. He was free of disease two years postoperatively.

Metastasis of uterine leiomyosarcoma to the salivary glands is exceedingly rare. In this report, we present the clinicopathologic features of one such case. The patient was diagnosed with uterine leiomyosarcoma at age 58 years and was treated by hysterectomy only. The tumor was confined to the uterine body.
