Frederick Akbar Mahomed was an Englishman of mixed Indian and Irish descent who made substantial contributions to the study of high blood pressure in a short professional life from 1872 to 1884. He was strongly influenced by the previous work of Richard Bright on kidney disease at his own hospital (Guy's Hospital in London) and by the contemporary pathological studies of Gull and Sutton on arteriolar changes in persons with high blood pressure. In the present study we report the renal pathological findings from autopsy material along with relevant clinical data on 21 spinal cord injury patients with end-stage renal disease (SCI-ESRD) treated with maintenance haemodialysis. INTRODUCTION: Gabapentinoids are centrally active GABA agonists whose use has increased substantially in the past decade. The current study aimed to provide a comprehensive clinical profile of a national case series of fatal poisonings related to gabapentinoids.
METHODS: Retrospective study of all deaths due to drug toxicity in Australia in which gabapentinoids were a contributory mechanism, retrieved from the National Coronial Information System (2000-2020). Information was collected on case characteristics, toxicology and major organ pathology.

BACKGROUND: Data regarding multiple myeloma (MM) that develops after kidney transplantation (KTx) are scarce. The outcomes of these patients were evaluated in a retrospective study.
