PURPOSE: The Ras gene is one of the oncogenes most frequently detected in human cancers, and codes for three proteins (K-, N-, and H-Ras). The aim of this study was to examine the mutations in codons 12, 13 and 61 of the three Ras genes in cases of human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Many mammalian transcripts contain target sites for multiple miRNAs, although it is not clear to what extent miRNAs may coordinately regulate single genes. BACKGROUND: Aberrant expression of cyclin D1 is a common feature in multiple myeloma (MM) and always associated with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). Oncogenic osteomalacia (OOM) is a rare but curable cause of metabolic bone disease. We report 9 patients with OOM, including 2 patients with occult nasal sinus tumours and 1 in whom a progressive increase in the post-operative FGF23 level heralded the development of metastatic pulmonary disease. A six-month study was conducted in p53(+/-) mice to evaluate the possible oncogenicity of resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene), a cancer chemopreventive agent present in grapes and other foods. p53(+/-) mice (25/sex/group) received daily gavage exposure to vehicle only (negative control), resveratrol doses of 1000, 2000, or 4000 mg/kg/day, or p-cresidine (400 mg/kg/day; positive control). Oncogenic osteomalacia is a rare clinicopathologic entity, linked to a mesenchymal tumor which overexpresses a hypophosphatemic factor, supposed to be the FGF-23. To date, about 100 cases have been published. We report the case of a 40-year-old man who presented an osteomalacic syndrome with no classical etiological diagnosis. The discovery of a subcutaneous tumor of the right foot and a high serum level of FGF-23 suggested the diagnosis of oncogenic osteomalacia. Oncogenic osteomalacia is a rarely described clinical entity characterized by hypophosphatemia, phosphaturia, and a low concentration of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3). It is most often associated with benign mesenchymal tumor and can be cured with surgical removal of the tumor. In this paper, we present a case of oncogenic osteomalacia caused by chondromyxoid fibroma in the soft tissue of the sole of the foot in a 56-year-old woman.
