Oncocytomas are unusual neoplasms of the head and neck that occur mainly in the parotid gland. The authors report a case of bilateral submandibular gland oncocytoma in a patient with multiple endocrine neoplasia 2B syndrome and neurofibromatosis type 1. Histopathology of the resection specimens demonstrated lymphovascular invasion but no other aggressive features. This was a highly unusual feature in an otherwise rare benign tumour.

Facial nerve schwannomas are uncommon neoplasms. Multiple schwannomas of the facial nerve in the parotid region are rare. Research regarding the pathogenesis of multiple facial nerve schwannomas is incomplete. Both the neoplastic bridging of tumor cells and tumor multicentricity have been hypothesized. We present a case of multiple intraparotid facial nerve schwannomas. In this case, the histologic features of the tumors support the multicentric hypothesis.

Warthin tumor is the second most common benign parotid neoplasm and often shows marked uptake on 18 F-FDG PET/CT, frequently mimicking malignancy. In contrast, its imaging characteristics on fibroblast activation protein (FAP)-targeted PET/CT remain insufficiently defined. We report 2 cases of parotid Warthin tumors that demonstrated marked FDG uptake but absent or minimal uptake on FAP-targeted PET/CT using 68 Ga-FAPI-04 and 68 Ga-FAP-2286. This discordant imaging pattern suggests that FAP-targeted PET/CT may aid in distinguishing Warthin tumor from malignant lesions.

BACKGROUND: Xanthogranulomatous tissue reaction is a well-documented process that is most common in kidney. There are other uncommon sites being documented as case reports in the literature. We would like to describe the clinicopathologic findings in a case of xanthogranulomatous sialadenitis that involved the parotid gland, which was clinically thought to be a tumoral mass, and compare it with the 4 previously reported cases.
CASE REPORT: A 52-year-old man presented with a left parotid mass. Fine needle aspiration biopsy was consistent with Warthin's tumor. The mass lesion was excised.
