A series of biobased phosphorus flame retardants has been prepared by converting starch-derived bis-2,5-(hydroxymethyl)furan to the corresponding diacrylate followed by Michael addition of phosphite to generate derivatives with phosphorus moieties attached via P-C bonds. The antimalarial efficacy of halofantrine was compared with mefloquine in an open-label, randomized comparative trial in adult male patients with acute uncomplicated falciparum malaria. Twenty-eight patients received halofantrine and 27 received mefloquine. Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) exposure leads to disorders reported in female infertility patients. Our hypothesis is that PAHs accumulate in granulosa cells (Gc) according to body mass index (BMI) and directly affects its functions. A novel P/N/Si-containing flame retardant (marked as DASO) was synthesized through an Atherton-Todd reaction between 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phospha-phenanthrene-10-oxide and aminophenyl silicone oil, and further used for reducing fire hazards of polycarbonate (PC). In this work, a series of water-soluble triptolide prodrugs were synthesized, and their triptolide release rate, pharmacokinetic characteristics and anti-tumor effect were measured. We found that inserting glycolic acid as a linker between triptolide and the cyclic amino acid accelerated the release of triptolide from prodrugs into the plasma while preserving its safety. A 19-year-old female was referred to our hospital for azotemia and anemia. She had been taking a health food for atopic dermatitis for about three years. Four hundred Phytochemical (bio-active) compounds having predictive activity for treating Sickle Cell Anemia were screened, using PASS online computational resource. Twenty-six compounds out of the four hundred compounds which showed high probability for treating sickle were further screened for pharmacokinetics profiles (ADMET properties) using SwissAdmet, AdmetSAR 2 and Pro-tox II online resources. Only thirteen compounds that displayed good ADMET properties from the twenty-six were further used for DFT calculations and molecular docking against carbonmonoxy sickle hemoglobin (PDB ID: 5E6E).
