Leveraging Predictive Pharmacometrics-Based Algorithms to Enhance Perinatal Care-Application to Neonatal Jaundice.

The field of medicine is undergoing a fundamental change, transforming towards a modern data-driven patient-oriented approach. This paradigm shift also affects perinatal medicine as predictive algorithms and artificial intelligence are applied to enhance and individualize maternal, neonatal and perinatal care. Here, we introduce a pharmacometrics-based mathematical-statistical computer program (PMX-based algorithm) focusing on hyperbilirubinemia, a medical condition affecting half of all newborns. Independent datasets from two different centers consisting of total serum bilirubin measurements

P-Wave Morphology in Focal Atrial Tachycardia: An Updated Algorithm to Predict Site of Origin.

OBJECTIVES: This study sought to report P-wave morphology (PWM) from a series of paraseptal (PS) atrial tachycardia (AT), revise then prospectively evaluate a simplified PWM algorithm against a contemporary consecutive cohort with focal AT. BACKGROUND: The 2006 PWM algorithm was useful in predicting the origin of focal AT. An updated algorithm was developed given advances in multipolar 3-dimensional mapping, potential limitations of PWM in separating PS sites, and a renewed interest in the P-wave in mapping non-pulmonary vein triggers. METHODS: The PWM from a consecutive series of 67 patient

Prediction Algorithm of Young Students' Physical Health Risk Factors Based on Deep Learning.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

Young people's physical and mental health is the foundation of society's overall development and the key to improving people's health quality. Middle school students' physical examinations and monitoring work are a surefire way to ensure their healthy development. Poor vision, dental caries, overweight and obesity, and high blood pressure are the most common adverse health outcomes of students caused by adolescent health risk behavior factors. Researchers have been concerned about the retinal fundus vascular system, which is the only internal vascular system that can be observed in a noninvasi

Predicting the postmortem interval using human intestinal microbiome data and random forest algorithm.

Gradual changes in microbial communities in a human body after death can be used to determine postmortem interval (PMI). In this study, gut microflora samples were collected from the vermiform appendix and the transverse colon of human cadavers with PMIs between 5 and 192 h. The results revealed that the appendix might be an excellent intestinal sampling site and the appendix flora had an inferred succession rule during human body decomposition. Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, and their respective subclasses showed a predictable successionrule in relative abundance over time. A Random Forest regres

PIRCHE-II: an algorithm to predict indirectly recognizable HLA epitopes in solid organ transplantation.

Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) mismatches between donors and recipients may lead to alloreactivity after solid organ transplantation. Over the last few decades, our knowledge of the complexity of the HLA system has dramatically increased, as numerous new HLA alleles have been identified. As a result, the likelihood of alloreactive responses towards HLA mismatches after solid organ transplantation cannot easily be assessed. Algorithms are promising solutions to estimate the risk for alloreactivity after solid organ transplantation. In this review, we show that the recently developed PIRCHE-II (P

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome after extracorporeal circulation: a predictive algorithm for the patient at risk.

INTRODUCTION: Perioperative systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) remains a catastrophe in cardiac surgery and adequate patient screening is still lacking. We present a prospective trial starting with preoperative data collection. For the first time, the postoperative outcomes of patients after open-heart surgery are evaluated to predict a hazard-constellation for the patient at risk of developing SIRS. METHODS: Of 2315 patients undergoing cardiac surgery over a 2-year period, 107 were considered likely to develop perioperative SIRS based on a high-risk stratification; 12 of them act

A Scalable Predictive Modeling Approach to Duplicate Detection in Pharmacovigilance: Algorithm Development and Validation Study.

BACKGROUND: Adverse event reports referring to the same case but treated as independent can negatively impact statistical analysis and may mislead clinical assessment. Pharmacovigilance relies on large databases of adverse event reports to discover potential new causal associations. Their size necessitates computational methods to identify duplicates at scale. The current state-of-the-art is statistical record linkage which outperforms rule-based approaches. In particular, vigiMatch is in routine use for VigiBase, the World Health Organization global database of adverse event reports, and repr

Clinical significance of machine learning algorithm in predicting PPM during TAVR in small annuli.

Compared with left heart catheterization (LHC), the pressure gradient of an aortic valve (PGAV) measured by echocardiography during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in small annuli is overestimated. The purpose of this study was to improve the accuracy of PGAV measurements by echocardiography in small annuli and to evaluate the influence of PGAV on prognosis. The internal derivation cohort included 273 consecutive patients with aortic stenosis and a small annulus (computed tomographic scan showing an annulus circumference < 72 mm or area < 400 mm2) who underwent TAVR. Patients com

Bone Cancer Cell Prediction Using an Enhanced Deep Learning Algorithm with an Optimization Technique.

OBJECTIVE: Bone cancer is a very serious disorder that can be fatal for many people. A reliable detection and classification system is required for early-stage bone cancer diagnosis. Traditional manual approaches are time-consuming and need specific skills, thus the creation of an automated system for detecting and classifying malignant and healthy bone tissue is critical. Cancerous bone tissue often has a different texture than healthy tissue in the affected location. Despite initially using Support Vector Machine and Edge Detection methods to improve outcomes, we only reached 0.92% accuracy.

Algorithmic Prognostication in Female Oncofertility Counseling: Ethical Challenges of Bias, Autonomy, and Predictive Uncertainty.

Advances in machine learning, predictive analytics, and clinical prediction modeling have accelerated the development of algorithmic tools for estimating reproductive outcomes after cancer treatment. In female oncofertility counseling, these models may support individualized assessment of treatment-related amenorrhea, premature ovarian insufficiency, and fertility risk, thereby improving risk communication and timely fertility-preservation referral. However, their use raises ethical concerns beyond predictive accuracy. This narrative review examines algorithmic prognostication in female oncofe
