In patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), bone is a dominant site of metastasis. Bone metastases often lead to skeletal-related events (SREs), which include pain, spinal cord compression and fractures. The treatment of bone metastases in men with mCRPC aims to improve SRE-free survival, quality of life and clinical outcomes. From 1970 through 1986, 219 women received postoperative pelvic external beam therapy and vaginal radium or cesium for uterine cancer. Prescribed external beam and total vaginal surface doses ranged from 38 to 51 Gy and from 70 to 119 Gy, respectively. The records of 503 patients with carcinoma of the tongue diagnosed between 1958 and 1972 were reviewed. The preponderance of tongue carcinoma among men was confirmed both in The Norwegian Radium Hospital (NRH) and the University of Wisconsin Hospitals (UW), but it was relatively more frequent among women in NRH and in UW than in southern Europe.
