Lymphangiomas of the tongue are rare, and their treatment is problematic. A 10 year-old patient with tongue lymphangioma who was previously treated with surgery and propranolol with no response was treated with sirolimus in our department. We used sirolimus with a dose of 1.6 mg/m(2)/day. After 3 months of treatment, the mass had decreased by more than 60%. OBJECTIVE: Treatment with sirolimus (SRL) is a potential therapeutic option for renal transplant recipients, especially those who have developed chronic graft nephropathy (CGN) or a neoplasm. Our aim was to analyze the efficacy and safety of conversion to SRL in renal transplant recipients.

Herein we have described the case of a male renal transplant recipient who developed drug fever apparently related to sirolimus. He had been stable under an immunosuppressive regimen of tacrolimus and mycophenolate mofetil, but developed acute cellular rejection at 5 years after transplantation due to noncompliance. Angiomyolipomas are very common in patients with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and cause substantial morbidity. Until now, arterial embolization has been the recommended treatment for symptomatic patients. We report the case of a woman with TSC and giant angiolipomas in whom sirolimus induced a dramatic reduction in bilateral renal tumors.
