Vitreopapillary traction: cost-effective diagnosis by optical coherence tomography.

CASE REPORTS: A prospective, noncomparative, observational case series. Three patients, aged 76 to 81, all referred to subspecialty services for evaluation of optic disc elevation, and all were found to have optic disc (vitreopapillary) traction as verified by optical coherence tomography. COMMENTS: Vitreopapillary traction is a recently recognized syndrome characterized by incomplete posterior vitreous detachment. The use of optical coherence tomography is helpful in the diagnosis of this syndrome, preventing many costly, unwarranted evaluations.

Optical coherence tomography imaging of the anterior chamber angle.

Primary angle closure glaucoma is a common cause of visual loss worldwide. Gonioscopy and other current methods of assessment of the anatomy of the anterior segment relevant to the diagnosis of this disease, such as ultrasound biomicroscopy, have significant limitations. Anterior segment optical coherence tomography, with its rapid, noncontact, and high-resolution image acquisition, seems to be a promising tool for the evaluation of the anterior chamber angle configuration, including changes induced by illumination and laser peripheral iridotomy. It has the potential for use as a rapid screeni

Identification of Optical Coherence Tomography-Defined Coronary Plaque Erosion by Preprocedural Computed Tomography Angiography.

Background A previous coronary computed tomography (CT) angiographic study failed to discriminate optical coherence tomography-defined intact fibrous cap culprit lesions (IFC group) from those with ruptured fibrous caps (RFC group) in patients with coronary artery disease. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of preprocedural coronary CT imaging in identifying subsequently performed optical coherence tomography-defined plaque rupture or erosion at culprit lesions in patients with non-ST-segment-elevation acute myocardial infarction. Methods and Results This study used data from

Retardance2Retardance: unsupervised denoising for polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography.

Polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT) enables advanced micron-scale characterization of biological tissues. However, its quantitative diagnostic utility is fundamentally limited by the presence of speckle and associated polarimetric noise. Conventional spatial filtering techniques suppress speckle effects yet compromise spatial resolution and can introduce severe coordinate-transformation artifacts in catheter-based applications. To address these challenges, we present the Retardance2Retardance (R2R) network, a physics-constrained, self-supervised deep learning framework
