Evaluation of a universal 3-4 month Healthy Child Programme visit in a local area of England: a mixed methods study.

OBJECTIVES: The interval between the 6-8 week and 9-12 month mandated reviews in the Healthy Child Programme is lengthy and may lead to delayed intervention. In Rotherham, northern England, an additional universal 3-4 month review was introduced to support child development and earlier identification of parent and child needs. We aimed to evaluate its reach, acceptability, and association with developmental outcomes. STUDY DESIGN: Mixed methods study using administrative records, qualitative interviews and focus groups with parents (n = 31), nursery nurses (n = 7), and commissioners (n = 4).

A personalized mHealth intervention for the universal prevention of perinatal mental disorders in routine maternal care (e-Perinatal): A protocol study for a hybrid feasibility pilot trial.

INTRODUCTION: The perinatal period is associated with an increased risk of new-onset depression and anxiety in both mothers and their partners. Despite the significant impact of perinatal mental disorders (PMD) on families and healthcare systems, access to mental health services remains limited due to structural barriers. Mobile health (mHealth) interventions offer a scalable and accessible strategy for universal prevention, but few have been integrated into routine maternal care and evaluated in real-world settings. PROTOCOL: This study presents the protocol for a two-arm, cluster-randomised

Fracture resistance of CAD/CAM blocks cemented on dentin using different cementation strategies.

PURPOSE: To determine whether the fracture resistance of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) resin-based composites and polymer-infiltrated ceramic network materials cemented on dentin is influenced by the restoration thickness and composite cement application strategy. METHODS: Disc-shaped specimens (Ø = 7 mm) of 0.8 mm and 1.5 mm thicknesses were milled from two CAD/CAM materials: resin-based composite (RBC, Cerasmart 270) and polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (PICN, Vita Enamic). The discs (n = 8 per group) were cemented on flattened dentin using three different

Hydrophobic Regulation of Ion-Exchange Cellulose Microspheres Activating an "Ionic Anchoring-Hydrophobic Locking" Mechanism for Enhanced Protein Chromatographic Resolution.

High separation resolution is essential for ion-exchange chromatography to achieve purification of proteins with similar net surface charge within a limited separation window. Herein, the hydrophobic-regulated design concept was proposed to enhance the separation resolution of ion-exchange cellulose microspheres (CMs, 10-25 μm). Site-targeted hydrophobic modification significantly improved the resolution of quaternary ammonium-functionalized CMs, enabling baseline separation of seven proteins (resolution ≥1.5). The established "ion anchoring-hydrophobic locking" synergistic mechanism elucidate

Multienzyme cascades for non-grain carbon feedstocks valorization: Recent advances and perspectives.

Biomanufacturing is increasingly transitioning toward sustainable non-grain carbon feedstocks, including gaseous C1 compounds, liquid C1 substrates, and solid non-grain biomass. However, the efficient utilization of these feedstocks remains hindered by mass-transfer limitations, thermodynamic constraints, substrate and intermediate cytotoxicity, and the inherent physical limitations of macromolecular catalysts. Intracellular multienzyme cascade catalysis offers a promising solution by organizing highly coordinated catalytic networks within living cells, thereby enhancing metabolic efficiency a

Out-of-pocket health spending and population health: evidence from universal coverage expansions.

INTRODUCTION: Reducing out-of-pocket (OOP) health spending is the headline target of universal health coverage (UHC) reforms, but two questions remain actively debated despite a substantial prior literature on each: does cutting OOP improve population health, and—when reform brings OOP down on average—who in the income distribution still pays OOP? METHODS: We use a panel of 241 countries (2000–2022), 13 UHC expansion episodes and harmonised microdata from four large national surveys (the Behavioural Risk Factor Surveillance System, Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde, Encuesta Nacional de Ingresos y G

Trivalent coronavirus vaccines elicit broad-spectrum immunity in mice and attenuate respiratory viral load in golden hamsters.

INTRODUCTION: Coronaviruses frequently undergo genomic mutation and recombination in nature. Through cross-species infection and sporadic spillover events, novel coronaviruses may periodically emerge in humans. SARS-CoV-1, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2 all cause severe, predominantly respiratory diseases with moderate to high pathogenicity, posing a substantial threat to public health. To prepare for potential future coronavirus outbreaks, there is a need for universal vaccines capable of eliciting broad-spectrum humoral and cellular immunity. METHODS: In this study, we constructed DNA- and replic
