OBJECTIVE: To review our experience with neurogenic bladder (NGB) patients who developed urinary-cutaneous fistulae (UCF). Patients with NGB can form UCF of multiple etiologies; however, little is known about the characteristics or long-term outcomes of these defects.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We reviewed 21 patients with NGB who developed UCF between 1998 and 2013. The clinical end points of the study were development of UCF, fistula repair failure, and need for permanent urinary diversion. Possible risk factors associated with repair failures were examined.

Intraperitoneal rupture of the bladder is a rare cause of peritonitis. Intraperitoneal rupture of the bladder was diagnosed during an emergency laparotomy for suspected mesenteric ischemia. The patient had undergone iterative urinary catheterization after a vascular bypass. The perforation was excised and sutured and the patient was catheterized for urinary rest for 15 days. Urinary catheterization is a possible cause of intraperitoneal rupture of the bladder.

We present a patient with a history of infiltrating lobular breast carcinoma that metastasized to both the biliary and urinary tract after a ten year disease-free period following mastectomy and chemoradiotherapy. The patient presented with acute cholecystitis; imaging and histopathology revealed infiltrating lobular carcinoma of the gallbladder and urinary bladder. This report emphasizes the importance of long-term follow up in patients with a history of breast cancer and maintaining a high degree of suspicion for diagnosis of metastatic disease.

A case of micropapillary carcinoma (MPC) of urinary bladder is presented, in which the urine smear was studied in detail in an attempt to better characterize the cytologic findings of MPC. When the voided urine was examined in low power, cancer cells were scattered in the specimens as compact papillary/spheroidal clusters composed of pleomorphic cancer cells. Efficacy and tolerance of a novel antimuscarinic drug solifenacin succinate (vesicar) were studied in 55 patients with hyperactive urinary bladder (HUB). All the patients were divided into two groups: 27 patients of group 1 received solifenacin in a dose 5 mg/day, 28 patients of group 2--in a dose 10 mg/day. We report a case of foetal urinary bladder rupture due to posterior urethral valves. A megacystis was diagnosed in a male foetus during routine second trimester ultrasound examination. The diagnosis of bladder rupture was made as, one week later, the bladder became undetectable with the appearance of ascites.
