We report a case of malignant lymphoma in a 15-year-old male. He had erythema and nodular lesions, hepatomegaly, and splenomegaly with high fever for one month. Laboratory examination revealed a normal blood routine test, a few lymphomatic cells in the bone marrow, and histopathologic changes characteristic of malignant lymphoma in a skin biopsy. Two months later, a second bone marrow examination showed 90% prolymphoblasts. The peripheral blood count revealed WBC 108 x 10(9)/L; among these, prolymphoblasts accounted for 92%. Three cases of rare chronic hypophysitis found by surgery are reported, with a review of the related literature. Two main types of inflammatory lesions of the pituitary gland are described: lymphocytic hypophysitis (LCH) and giant-cell granulomatous hypophysitis (GGH). These present clinically as a pituitary tumor but are characterized by distinct hypopituitarism with a slightly enlarged sella turcica. Only a few cases present as hyperprolactinemia. The inflammatory process may be resolved with hormonal replacement alone for LCH, while surgical intervention is proposed for GGH.

Seven patients with acute myeloid leukemias (AML) in complete remission (CR) were treated with high dose chemotherapy and/or total body irradiation (TBI) followed by autologous bone marrow transplantation (ABMT). Over an 8 year period, 66 patients with adenocarcinoma of the cardia in advanced stages underwent total gastrectomy. The operative morbidity rate was 7.5% and the post-operative mortality rate (1 month) was 1.5%. The post-operative 1,3,4, and 5 year survival rates were 69%, 30.7%, 20% and 13.8% respectively. This article reports 6 cases of pyoderma gangrenosum of either acute or chronic clinical type. Etiologically, we found that minor local trauma could induce ulcerative and destructive lesions, with typical pyoderma gangrenosum features following in 4 cases. Neurological investigations were performed for 53 cases with chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis diagnosed by pathology and serum antithyroid antibodies determination. The mediastinal bronchogenic cyst is one of rare congenital foregut anomalies, with low frequency and usually asymptomatic. When secondary infection develops, it rapidly increases in size and may compress the respiratory system, and cause acute respiratory distress, in that condition, emergency surgical intervention will be necessary. A 31 year-old male with Crouzon syndrome and a 21p+ was observed. Pedigree analysis and molecular cytogenetic study on the members of the family revealed that this syndrome was an autosomal dominant disease inherited from the proband's mother, and the 21p+ was transmitted from the father. Neither large AG-band nor double NOR was observed on p+. Using a 7.3 kb fragment of 18S and 28S rRNA genes as probe, chromosomal in situ hybridization demonstrated that this p+ was very probably the result of enlargement of NOR or duplication of rRNA genes on this chromosome.
