Suicide prevention is a critical public health issue, yet little is known about how prepared Muslim faith leaders are to handle situations involving suicidal distress. Despite serving as key sources of support within their communities, their readiness and the factors influencing it remain understudied. This study addresses this gap by assessing the levels of Suicide Prevention Competency (SPC) among Muslim faith leaders in Canada and identifying the main determinants of these competencies. A national online survey was conducted between September and December 2025 using purposive and convenienc

Considerations for Spiritually Integrated Cognitive Processing Therapy (SICPT) for PTSD and Posttraumatic Growth in Survivors of Interpersonal Trauma.

Traumatic events profoundly disrupt individuals' psychological, physical, social, and spiritual well-being; yet, they may also lead to posttraumatic growth (PTG). Spirituality has been shown to play a central role in how trauma survivors find meaning, cope, and rebuild their lives. However, most evidence-based interventions (EBIs) for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), including cognitive processing therapy (CPT), often neglect spiritual and religious (RS) dimensions, limiting their relevance for spiritually oriented clients. The aim of this paper is to present a rationale for integrating s

Bringing Light into the Dark: Moral Injury and Exploring the Impact of Eliciting Moral Elevation on the Daily Experiences of U.S. Veterans.

Moral elevation is described as feeling inspired after witnessing someone engage in virtuous behavior, whereas moral injury is the result of internal conflict that stems from exposure to morally injurious experiences. Building on previous work that used moral elevation to benefit veterans, this study explored the relationship between eliciting elevation, daily motives, and affective experiences for veterans with moral injury-related distress. Using an ABA experimental design, veterans (final n = 22) first completed 4 daily surveys that only included brief daily measures (A), followed by 4 days

An Historical and Epidemiological Analysis of Pontifical Mortality: Patterns, Causes and Narratives across the Centuries.

Despite extensive theological, political, and biographical study, papal mortality has rarely been examined epidemiologically. The papacy's unique features, lifelong tenure, late accession, and historically privileged living conditions-make it a distinct case for analyzing historical mortality patterns. The aim of this article was to analyze mortality trends among Popes across nearly two millennia, identifying predominant causes of death and situating these within broader historical, medical, and sociopolitical contexts. Data on 266 recognized Popes, from Saint Peter to Pope Francis, were compi
